Day three’s goal is scrubbin’ and boy oh boy scrubbin’ is what it was, and will be, and will be. The boat is in disrepair, stuff everywhere, everything sticky, no where to walk, no where to hide.
We are writing these one day behind so I am currently sitting atop a pile of things writing this while we try and navigate around oil cans and scrub brushes to make a cup of coffee.

Okay okay, the day started off with scrubbin’ on the mind. We first began by using dawn dish soap, which works wonders on grease and oil, and then doing rinses with salt water. As there is no engine now, we are using the water intake hose from the seacock which feeds the engine as a hose to do rinse downs as it is in the right spot.
At one point we brought our drained engine fluids to the Ucluelet Small Craft Harbour where the very friendly Kevin allowed us to ditch all the old oil and coolant. He also swapped us buckets and sent us back with one extra! We walked on over then to Pioneer Boat Works where our friend Jorn, who runs the store, sold us almighty Bilgekote which will make our engine room pearly white.

Back on the boat with beers and chocolate we were back at it scrubbin’. There isn’t much more to say here really. We will be at this for another day or two until everything is paint-able at which point it will really feel like the tables are starting to turn.
Day 3: 10h00 – 21h30:
- Scrubbed
- Engine fluids ditched
- Bilgekote acquired
- 7 beers consumed
